Ensuite fixed…?

We have concrete now back in the ensuite.  Still not convinced that its fixed properly so will be asking for engineering signoff.  The engineering drawings call for the waste pipe to be vertical though the slab, looks diagonal to me <shrug>.

Plaster, and the slab saga.

We have plaster – yay!

Slab repairs are still in progress as they didn’t get done last week as promised.  Work is being done though…very very slowly.  I don’t think the concreting company wants to fix the work.

Still no changes to the external slab, but here is the work being done to fix the misplaced shower waste in the ensuite.  Because the plumber didn’t get the original fixes certified they have gone with the less subtle fix:

Away we go again

Nearly 3 weeks have passed and most of the outstanding issues have been resolved.  The last couple of fixes will be sorted in the coming days.

Thankfully the frame and insulation is now at the stage where the plaster work can be re-started.  Should be fully plastered by the end of next week.  Cabinetry is booked in for the 30th May.  Starting to get excited again but we remain cautious. Really need a have a couple of positive things to happen.  Having the plasterwork finish without issues would be amazing!!!

Slab repairs should happen by end of this week and then the bricklayer can start too.

Will write another update next week.

Data cabling finally separated from electrical

Met with PD today

Met today with our Site Supervisor, his Manager and our Independent inspector on site to talk through our house issues.  Everything is on hold pending a response on timelines to get all the issues recitified; should have that on Wednesday this week.  We have all agreed that all issues need to be fixed before moving forwards with anything else.  I’m hopeful we will get a good outcome this week.

Here is the list of some of the issues we’ve had since we started late February:
  • Slab: Poured based on the wrong plans; poor quality and fixes to date have created more issues – issues still unresolved
  • Frame: Built based on the old plans, took over 3 weeks to do 4 days work, poor quality – loads of issues still unresolved
  • Plumbing: Installed based on the old plans, had to be moved resulting in poor quality fixes – issues still unresolved
  • Cabling: Data and electrical calbing run together in parallel – issues still unresolved
  • Windows: Still waiting on windows, corner slider is wrong – issues still unresolved
  • Sarking: Holes have been cut in it making it ineffective  – issues still unresolved
  • House wrap & insulation: House wrapped too early, and removed to fix frame issues.  Wrap still has issues unresolved.
  • Roof: Flashing on the front of the house has been bent around the trusses and isnt straight
