Ticking along

Brickwork is sitting at around 90% done. The brickies have done a really nice job and have gone off to another job while engineering rework the design for the alfresco. The original solution didn’t fit in properly.  They are due back at the end of this week to finish up.

Chippies are back to pull down the timber cladding on the front of the house and re do it as there is no sarking behind the boards.  Looks good for a second time, but this time the left hand set of boards are done too.  They also have the flashing under the board done right so we can’t see the roof trusses and its watertight now – that will help 🙂

And after months of delays the concreting sub contractors have returned to fix their terrible job on the slab and have applied a self levelling screed to most of the house in order to level it out.  Each room slab level varied by over 10mm in height – worst was the rumpus room which was more than 20mm.

New items to be fixed is the laundry cabinets as the brickies decided to use it to rest their bricks on and have scratched it. Not sure why they thought that was a good idea.

Will add more pics on the weekend.  Next week we should see sanding and patching of the plasterwork and then painting should start too.
